The Siege of
Black Tower
April 17, 2010
Pocahontas State Park
Chesterfield, Virginia 23832
A lone black tower stands at the top of a Holy Tor beside the King's
road. This tower is a major point of river defense to the south
of fair Atlantia. As the populace knows, spring is the time of
year when we can expect to see invaders coming from the sea, gliding up
our precious river to wreak havoc on this portion of the kingdom.
It would appear that next spring will be no different. We must
prepare!
The siege against our beloved tower will take place on 17 April, Anno
Societatis 44. We are sending a plea to stout-hearted Atlantian
heavy fighters, to the mighty wielders of the Rapier, and to
feared-throughout-the-realm Atlantian archers to come and ward off this
attack. The day will be hard work; the wooded areas around the
tower will be teeming with those wishing us harm. Be prepared to
meet the enemy in the woods and fight to the death.
While the battle rages outside the walls, our skillful artisans and
brewers will present their creations in a glorious competition and
display. The river folk have planned a Silent Auction fund raiser
in order to gather some seed money to repair our tower in time for next
year’s event. A simple lunch of bread, sliced meat, cheese,
and apple slices will be brought to the populace. At the end of
the day, a sumptuous feast will be prepared by the inhabitants of the
black tower.
This battle will last but a day. Space is limited to 150 people
(not including children) and pre-registration is required!
Cost for the event is $10 for adult, $3 for children ages 5 to 17;
children under 5 are free. Non-members must add $3.00 per person.
Cost for simple lunch and evening feast is $8 for adults and children
ages 5 to 17; children under 5 eat free.
