The Siege of Black Tower

April 9, 2011
Church of the Sacred Heart
New Bohemia Hall
9300 Community Lane
Petersburg, Virginia 23805

A lone black tower stands near the riverfront beside the King's road. This tower is a major point of river defense to the south of fair Atlantia. As the weather turns warmer, invasion of our lands by our enemies is once again possible. We must continue to sharpen our swords and wits to help hold these river bound lands for Atlantia.

Come and join us for a day of Tournaments, Melees, A & S Classes and Competitions, Pages Academy, a Silent Auction and fun and friendship.

Site opens at 9:00 am and closes at 7:00 pm.

Restrictions: No pets allowed. Dry site.

There will be a Black Tower Tournament for both heavy weapons and rapier combatants. There will also be a melee competition for each combat form. Melee combatants must bring a prize to donate to the Treasure Chest in order to participate in the melees. For those of you who are not fighting, you may wish to bring a prize for a fighter to donate to the Treasure Chest in your honor!

There will also be Youth Combat Fighting.

A day board of siege rations will be provided at no additional cost.

A & S Competition at the Siege of the Black Tower

We will have an open display of works in progress and newly completed projects. We want to see what our talented artisans are working on!

Documentation is encouraged.

In keeping with the Siege theme, a period Baking Competition will be held. We want your creativity to shine as you make delectables out of the grains, dried fruits, and nuts and spices you stockpiled prior to the onset of the dreadful siege. An ingredients list and documentation for each entry is required.

Have fun!

There will be a separate competition for adults and youth.

Contact Lady Isabel Henry at lumiere6[AT]verizon.net with any questions.
